Overtime Sports Talk Show: UPDATE

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BALTIMORE RAVENS..I know, I know the Superbowl was three weeks ago. I’m late, but the Ravens get to reign as NFL Champs for at least another 49 weeks.

It was a great NFL 2012 season, the rookies showed us that they belong, the mobile QB is back on the scene, defenses were left with dust in their mouths and teams that were in the cellar for years look to have promise in the near future. We watched Superbowl commercials, the Senior Bowl and the surprisingly entertaining Pro Bowl lead to the NFL HONORS saw Robert Griffin III capture NFL Rookie of the Year and Adrian Peterson the best player in the game capture NFL MVP.

Now the work begins for the 2013 season starting with the NFL Combine.  300 top prospects have been invited to participate in their one and only interview.  This will be their opportunity to impress NFL Scouts, Coaches and General Managers.  Only a select few with be selected by an NFL franchise in April at the NFL Draft so they better make the best of it.  Leading candidates this year are Geno Smith QB WV, Chance Warmack OG Alabama, Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M and Barkevious Mingo DE LSU.

The NFL Draft is April 25 – 27 at primetime.  The draft has been exciting the last few years.  I look forward to seeing the new players make an impact as they do each year.

Many of you have emailed and tweeted, “Where’s the show?”.  Well after completing two NFL seasons and an NBA season, I decided to scale back the show a bit.  The weekly schedule was fun but very demanding on my full-time schedule.  The Overtime Sports Talk Show will return in April.  We will continue to have weekly shows during the NFL season, but only have broadcast once a month during the off-season to cover stories of interest, ie NBA playoff & MLB season.  I appreciate everyone’s support the last two years.  I will dedicate more time to the blog during the sporting news cycles.  Sports in one of my favorite hobbies and talking about it with the fellas makes it fun, rivalries and all.  If anyone has suggestions for a show or would like to submit stories for the blog please contact me via email at overtime.talk@gmail.com.
